An In-Depth Look

The research plans are as follows: poor sleeping habits can be documented with a personal sleeping diary from children and their parents. School test results are to be collected one week before the onset of the research. Next, parents should implement more efficient methods to enhance sleep and then test results should be collected again for comparison. Teachers should also take a healthy role in this research project by documenting levels of alertness for each child in question. The research in question will implement both the qualitative and the quantitative research methods based on the measurable variables and subjectivity of the respondents. Quantitative research focuses on numerical data such as weekly test scores and looks for the cause and effect or identifies correlational relationship between two (Mitzu 2002). The project's goal is to determine a causal relationship between sleeping and school performances. In contrast, qualitative research concentrates on pictures and words and tends to be more subjective in nature. This method is exploratory in nature and given the broad range of leeway, it makes an ideal method of analysis for this research project.
